Persistence has a competitive sail inventory Doyle 155% full hoist head sail made with PXB2 sailcloth. North 140% headsail made with Pentex sail cloth. Great sail for winds 13-20knots TWS. Doyle PXB2 110% genoa for 13+ knots and more power when the wind gets variable. Quantum Fusion 6500 carbon/vectran fibres with tafetta on both sides. This main has great sail shape and is bullet proof. Standard masthead 180% spinnaker. In light winds the 155. When winds pick up to 13+ the 140% is like magic and has won us many races with wind speeds 18-22 knots! Over 15 the 110% Doyle genoa.

Racing gear and controls
Persistence has all the usual racing controls. All lines lead back thru Lewmar clutches to Lewmar ST30 cabin top winches. Lewmar ST42 Primary winches and ST40 secondaries for genoa and spinnaker sheeting. Rigid boom vang, cunningham, high tech line for halyards (2 spin, 1 jib and main) and also spectra spinnaker sheets. Check stays that can be used to further shape main or can be tied off at shroud base to make things simpler. Hydraulic backstay for headsail luff tensioning and mainsail control. Full set of instruments to read speed over water and ground, wind speed, depth and coundown timers, VHF RAM mic in cockpit to hear race instructions. Long tracks for adjustable genoa cars for all headsails. Track and car size upgraded in 2017 for easier control. Main sail has traveller as well as gross and fine tune main sheets. Spinnaker has pole, uphaul, downhaul and twing lines and can be run with or without separate guys and sheets. If you wish to adjust your sail trim on Persistence the controls are there and are adequately sized.
